The Williams Report (this was commissioned by the government and ignored when it did not say what they wanted to hear, as a was a similar report in the USA. Police and ministers ignore psychologists on the grounds that their own proposals " stand to reason", "are only common sense," or "uphold the moral values of the majority". Do you remember when that argument supported the Inquisition and it was heresy to suggest the Earth was not flat?
